Welcome

Hello, I'm Sally, I am a qualified and accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 10 years' experience of helping people with common mental health problems while working in the NHS. I am also experienced in supervising and training other CBT therapists.

Unfortunately I have no availability to take on new clients at present.

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?

CBT is a talking therapy treatment recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for problems such as social anxiety, generalised anxiety, post traumatic stress and depression, among other common mental health problems. CBT can equip you with the tools to overcome anxiety and depression for life.

Mood difficulties I can help you with

  • Social anxiety
  • Low self esteem
  • Generalised anxiety
  • Panic
  • Depression
  • Specific phobias
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Post traumatic stress disorder
  • Trichotillomania
  • Body Dysmorphic Disorder

What CBT looks like

The first steps of CBT include us working together to identify your vicious cycle of thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours that maintain your current mood difficulty, and your goals for treatment. Next, the treatment involves working toward your goals by changing thought patterns and behaviours using techniques such as behavioural experiments and cognitive restructuring. Treatment finishes with creating a relapse prevention plan - a toolkit for you to use to stay well.  In a nutshell, CBT can help you feel happier and less afraid.

How I work

In my CBT practice I adhere to the BABCP standards of conduct, performance and ethics.  You can view these along with useful information about Cognitive Behaviour Therapy on the association’s website: www.babcp.com.  I have regular supervision with another accredited CBT therapist to support my practice.

I have professional indemnity insurance for my practice with Balens, and I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.  For more information about how I manage your data, please see my privacy notice.
